Getting Familiar with the Software Interface
The VHDoc interface is designed to be tidy, intuitive, and easy to use. All main functions are clearly displayed on the workspace screen.
1. Areas of the screen
The main workspace consists of 4 main areas:

- Left navigation bar: Quickly switch between working modules (Scan Documents, Workbench, Records & Documents, Breakpoints, Reports, Settings).
- Page list (left of the image area): Displays thumbnails for each record set with sequence numbers and check status.
- Scanned image preview (center): The digitization workbench shows documents after scanning so you can check quality, zoom in, zoom out, rotate, or denoise.
- Document information & OCR panel (right): Displays text automatically recognized from the scanned image (number/symbol, issue date, summary) and quick action buttons.
2. Left menu bar
You can click the [|←] button at the top of the menu to collapse this bar, giving more room to display images:
- Overview: A central dashboard that tracks total pages, batches, and the digitization pipeline.
- Projects: Set up digitization projects and divide them into corresponding processing batches.

- Index Templates: Set up metadata fields for each document type (Contract, Decision...).
- Reports: Statistics on scanning output, QC pass rate, and OCR recognition accuracy.

- Settings: Configure the scanner, language, license, and software updates.
3. Switching between Light / eye-friendly Dark themes
The software supports 2 color modes to protect users' eyes during continuous work:
- Light theme: Uses an eye-friendly Slate gray palette, glare-free, with high contrast for well-lit office environments.
- Dark theme: An elegant dark-gray background that reduces eye strain when working in low light or at night.
To switch, go to Settings -> Interface -> Choose Light or Dark mode.
